10 May – North Borneo University College (NBUC) successfully organized the Borneo Education, Skills and Career Carnival 2025, officiated by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud. The carnival united the diverse parties from education sector, skill training agencies and industry players to strengthen collaboration and foster human capital development in Borneo, particularly in Sabah.
YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud expressed his full support for NBUC’s initiative to be upgraded to full university status, positioning it as Sabah’s second university after UMS. This marks a significant move towards transforming Sabah into a regional hub for higher education. Through this successful event, NBUC reinforces its dedication to advancing knowledge, skills, and innovation while continuing to play a crucial role in shaping a future-ready generation for Sabah and the border Borneo region.
