THE CHANCELLOR OF NBUC

YABHG. TOH PUAN DATUK SERI PANGLIMA (Dr.) HAJAH NORLIDAH BINTI TAN SRI DATUK R.M. JASNI


YABhg. Toh Puan Datuk Seri Panglima (DR) Hajah Norlidah Binti Tan Sri Datuk RM Jasni, wife of the 10th Sabah State Governor, Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dr. Haji Juhar Bin Haji Mahiruddin. She was born on November 20th, 1962 at Kampung Surapit, Papar, Sabah. Her father, Tan Sri Datuk RM Jasni, is a former politician, local leader, and also a well-known writer. Meanwhile, YABhg. Toh Puan’s mother, Puan Sri Hajah Samsiah Ag. Puteh is a former teacher.

YABhg. Toh Puan started her career with the Land and Surveying Department, Kota Kinabalu District in 1980. After one year, in 1981, she was transferred to Magistrate Court, Sandakan District. It was in the same year that she met and married YABhg. Tun Dr. Haji Juhar who at the time served as a magistrate in Magistrate Court, Sandakan District.

YABhg. Toh Puan is actively involved in Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), especially through her involvement in Badan Kebajikan Islam Sabah (BAKISA). YABhg. Toh Puan served BAKISA Committee Member for 7 years; from 2003 until 2010. She is involved in many activities and programs to help disabled children, in women's development activities as well in religious activities.

After her husband was appointed as the Sabah Governor, YABhg. Toh Puan has been appointed as the patron for BAKISA. She has also been appointed as a Patron for Yayasan Nur Jauhar and several NGOs and charity bodies.

YABhg. Toh Puan received an Honorary Doctorate in Social Science from North Borneo University College, Sabah and was appointed as the University’s Chancellor in October 2016.

Prof. Datuk. Sr. Dr. Mohaizi Mohamad

Prof. Datuk Sr. Dr. Mohaizi Mohamad, has been consulting on GeoIntelligent Strategic Planning for Government Organisation for 16 years with hands-on experience in the field of GIS, GPS, Geomatics, Land Administration, ICT & Multimedia, and Strategic Management.

He started his career as an assistant director in the department of Surveying and Mapping Malaysia in 1981. He was involved in many government agencies such as the Centre for Malaysian Remote Sensing Public Department (JKR). Malaysian Centre for Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MaCGPI) was to revitalize the ‘sick’ division based on innovative thinking and growth strategies.

Having served for 20 years with the Government of Malaysia and has accumulated vast experience in the field of GIS, GPS, Geomatic, Soft Systems, Business Process Reengineering, and ISP to make organizations more profitable, dynamic, and visionary. He has structured the Dept of Survey and Mapping under a few restructuring exercises to be more competitive in the marketplace. He is a master of change or innovation in the workplace especially to respond rapidly to a profound level of change targeted by clients.

He founded Geomatika Technology Sdn Bhd and later Geomatika College International in the context to explore opportunities as consultants in GIS, GPS, Geomatic, SDI, Land Administration, ICT, and Multimedia and Strategic Management Sectors, especially in the reorganization of high profile Government Department with define concept of management skills are more important than technology. The commercial knowledge of geospatial was then utilized by the University College.

He developed the latest technology in mobile GPS, GIS, SDI, GNSS, VRS, GPS Fleet Management, Lidar, Laser Scanning, etc. He has patented a Biotechnology System and products which are then commercialized.

THE VICE-CHANCELLOR OF NBUC

PROFESSOR DATO' SR. DR. AZIMUDDIN BAHARI

PROFESSOR DATO' SR. DR. AZIMUDDIN BAHARI has been in the Government Service for 35 years and is now in Private Practice. In the Government Service, he has served the Local Government, State Government and Federal Government. He has a diverse educational background, including PhD, MSc in Information System Management, Bch. of Jurisprudence, BSc in General Practice Surveying, Dip. in Public Administration and Dip. in Estrate Management.

During his government career, as a PTD officer, he held important roles in the Ministry, such as Secretary in the Geoscience and Mineral Division. He  also worked in various capabilities with the Department of the Director General of Lands and Mines, including roles like Director of Strata Title Division, Director of Land Information System, Deputy Director General , and Deputy Federal Lands Commissioner. In the roles of Deputy Secretary General (Environment), Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment, he played a key role in amending the Strata Title Act 1985. Additionally, he was actively involved in environmental matters, serving as the lead negotiator for environmental issues in trade agreements and as the Chief Negotiator for Climate Change under the United Nations Framework Conference on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

In Private practice, he founded and served as the CEO and Registered Property Manager of AB Property Management Solution. Additonally, he serves as the Deputy President at the Land Professional Association Malaysia (PERTAMA), is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Surveyors (RISM), and is a Member of the MIPFM.
