NBUC, represented by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Sr. Dr. Azimuddin Bin Bahari, attended the Launching Ceremony of Perintis Muda (PERMUDA) through a Letter of Intent (LoI) and Certificate of Strategic Collaboration (CoC) between the Sabah Youth Council and the Institute of Higher Education on June 21, 2023, held at Wisma Wanita, Kota Kinabalu. The ceremony was officiated by the Honourable Datuk Dr. Haji Mohd Arifin bin Datuk Haji Mohd Arif, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (KSTI) Sabah.

A total of 12 HEIs were present to sign the LoI and COC at this ceremony. The establishment of PERMUDA is an effort of the Sabah Youth Council to help the youth develop their talents and potential in various aspects.
